Dear McDonald’s Restaurants
I recently had the pleasure of visiting one of your fine facilities. I travel quite a bit and will stop for coffee from time to time, but rarely do I actually buy sandwiches from your restaurant. Don’t get me wrong. I actually like fast food but try to stay away from it as much as possible for health reasons. In fact, my first job was at a McDonald’s. As Ray Kroc used to say I have ketchup in my blood. Historically, the McDonald’s brand stood for consistency and quality. So when people go to McDonald’s they know what to expect.
So you can imagine my surprise when I saw on the menu board, something called Buffalo Ranch McChicken sandwich. I was intrigued. What is this new culinary delight you speak of? Truthfully, I was skeptical. I love buffalo sauce. It is my favorite condiment on the face of the earth. Yet you know as well as I, that there are many substandard buffalo sauces is out there. You can imagine my dilemma. Should I chance it and taste what could be the most delicious fast food sandwich ever created? Or would it be safe to assume that McDonald’s would use a lesser quality, less flavorful hot sauce? I was conflicted. But my gut told me to go for it.
I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. By mid-sandwich I was in hot sauce heaven. Very spicy. Although I strongly prefer blue cheese dressing with buffalo sauce, the ranch was a nice complement to the fire which was this sandwich. I enjoyed every bite and will come back for more!
But wait, I am not done. The pièce de résistance… this flavorful, exquisite culinary masterpiece is on the dollar menu. The total cost for my meal which also included a small coffee, with tax, was $2.18. Mind=blown.
So in my final words I would like to think the person who made the choice to use a spicy, high-quality, delicious buffalo sauce on the sandwich. You made my day.
Forever a McDonald’s Fan
